Last December,Bethléem was distinguished along 49 other European housing solutions for the locked-out (eg homeless people and other population groups with limited access to the housing market). This initiative is undertaken by FEANTSA and bears the name of 50 housing solutions.
Please find below the announcement to the first webinar on the impact of faith-based organisations on the community. Bethleem’s founder Marie-Françoise Boveroulle will speak up on April 15th at 2pm :
As the coronavirus crisis strikes, the need to adequately house homeless people and vulnerable groups is more urgent than ever. The Housing Solutions Platform proposes a dive into its 50 Out-of-the-Box Housing Solutions to Homelessness and Housing Exclusion to showcase some of its innovative and replicable solutions through an online series of training aimed at local authorities and local NGOs.
Once a month, join the conversation, meet the project managers and learn more about some of the projects selected by the HSP.
How was the project set up?
What were the obstacles?
How were they overcome, and what are ways to mobilise decision makers?

The Example of Faith-Based Organisations

Our first online training will look at how Christian communities come together to address housing exclusion, and how they mobilise local communities and institutions. Participating projects will be Bethléem (Belgium) and Scottish Churches Housing Action (UK).
SCHA is a partnership between the main Christian denominations and organisations in Scotland. Their purpose is to support and encourage the contribution of all of Scotland’s churches, in their local communities, to realising the vision of a Scotland free of homelessness.
Brussels-based Project Bethléem was launched in response to a request from Cardinal Danneels to address to city’s social housing shortage.

En décembre dernier, Bethléem fit partie des 50 projets de logement pour les laissés-pour-compte (les sdf mais aussi tous les groupes de population avec un accès limité au logement) distingués au plan européen. La FEANTSA est à l’origine de cette initiative qui s’intitule 50 housing solutions.

Notre premier wébinaire vous propose de découvrir comme des organisations religieuses se mobilisent pour lutter contre l’exclusion en terme de logement et comment ils mobilisent la communauté locale et les institutions. Les deux projets participant sont Bethléem (Belgique) et Scottish Churches Housing Action (UK).
SCHA est une association principalement constituée d’acteurs et associations chrétiens en Ecosse. Leur but est via le concours de toutes les église écossaises et la communauté de contribuer à l’éradication du sans-abrisme.
Le projet Bethléem basé à Bruxelles a été lancé en réponse à l’appel du Cardinal Danneels à trouver une solution à la crise du logement dans l’archidiocèse.
