Especially for Young Europeans. As usual, at the end of the social year, we invite you for a one-day trip-pilgrimage which links spirituality, conviviality and discovery.

Maybe you remember our last-year pilgrimage in the Forêt de Soignes, where we followed traces of the 14th-century mystic Jan van Ruisbroek? This year we invite you for a walk along the Dijle River from Tremelo to Leuven, following traces of St Damien de Veuster (1840-1889), Belgian missionary who gave his life for lepers on the Molokai Island in the Hawaiian archipelago.

Gathering at the Chapel for Europe, 10:00

Going by cars to Tremelo (the village where St Damien was born), visiting Damiaan Museum.
Walking along Dijle River to Leuven. The whole route has approx. 15 km and runs partially along the river, than through villages and fields. It can be shortened if the weather is bad. Take a good walking shoes.
Picnic on the way, so bring with you something to eat and to share :-)   Crockery and cutlery will be provided.
Sunday Eucharist will be celebrated approx. 18:00 in Sint Antonius Church in Leuven, in the crypt where St Damien was buried.
In Leuven: visiting Grote Markt (Grand Place) and Groot Begijnhof (Grand Beguinage). Coffe and more at the Oude Markt :-)  before going back to Brussels.
Return organized by cars, approx. 20:00.

How to participate:  we organize a car transport from Brussels/Chapel for Europe, so please register :-)
