One day bike pilgrimage at the end of the social year.
For all friends of the Chapel.

We gather at 9:30 at the Brussels Central Station
@ the ticket offices at the entrance

22:00 at the latest

No need to have your own bike.
We all rent Belgian Railway bikes (it helps very much the logistics and there is no much price difference).
There might be some exceptions: eg. if someone has a bike already adapted for kids.

We go by train to Diest.
Then we rent bikes at the train station (special Train & Bike tickets). Diest is not very far from Bruxels, although the trip takes more than 1h as there is a train change in Leuven.

We  take the so called  Reynvaert route.
There are two main religious places: Scherpenheuvel Marian Sanctuary (we can have a mass there) and Averboden Abbey. Picnic and coffee on the way.

The route according to the guide takes 39,8 km or 3h50min through villages and fields. There is a possibility to shorten the route about 12km for those who could have problems to go the whole 40km – but generally the route should not cause difficulties and the speed will be rather recreational.

Please bring a picnic with you and for all suitable dress.

Estimated costs: 20€ plus the price of tea/coffee on the way.
