Zacchaeus course at the Chapel

Starts on Thursday October 20 at 20:30

What is it?

You certainly remember a story about Zacchaeus, a tax collector, who climbed a tree to see Jesus. Jesus sees him and does not ask him to change his job or to do any other thing. He just tells him: « tonight I’m coming to your place » and triggers a little revolution in Zacchaeus life. That’s what this programme is about.

What’s the aim?

The aim is to discover what the social doctrine of the Church really says about work, money and possessions, poverty, authority, environment, etc. and to find your own way of living a christian life in the circumstances that are ours.

The program helps to find unity between what we believe in and what we do… as professionals and EU workers, singles, wifes or husbands, parents and at all the other levels of our lifes.

How does it work?

We meet twice per month (for 8 months) on
Thursdays at 8.30 pm (starting 20 October 2016):

  • Once per month, we listen together to a teaching presenting in an accessible way a selected aspect of the Church’s social doctrine
  • Another time, we meet to share our reflections on the topic in small groups with other participants of the Course.
  • In the meantime, we have a series of exercises to do on our own following a course book (available in French) or e-book (available in English).

Has anyone tested it before?

Yes, it was tested by lot of people over the last years and they found it really excellent! If you want to hear some opinions, you will find them here

The program was created ten years ago by Pierre-Yves Gomez,
a lecturer at one of the leading French business schools
and member of the Emmanuel’s Community.
This year, all the materials are available for the first time in English,
a perfect moment to make Zacchaeus course available to friends in the European bubble of Brussels!
