Christian meditation at the Chapel

20:00

Under the wing of World Community for Christian Meditation (www.wccm.org) a group has been set up to meditate in the Christian tradition as rediscovered and revived by John Main OSB (1926-1982).

The essence of Christian meditation is stillness, silence and simplicity. It is about Being with God rather than talking to God. Simplicity means letting go of all self-analysis and self-reflection. Silence means letting go of all thoughts, ideas and images. Stillness means letting go of desire. We thus return to our true selves and find both peace and joy in God, who is Love.

You are welcome to join us on Monday evenings at 8 PM in the crypt of the Chapel. Please come 10 to 15 minutes earlier if you can, not least because we need to lock the front door around 8PM before we start. The meditation evenings will take about an hour (including 25 minutes of meditation proper), after which you are most welcome to join us for refreshments and fellowship.

Please contact Frits Smulders at frits.smulders@icloud.com if you have any practical questions or if you plan to come for the first time (evenings may occasionally be canceled at short notice due to unforeseen circumstances).
